The major fire that occurred at Wang Fuk Court, Tai Po, Hong Kong is a disaster that is still not over to this day. In the fire, at least 13 people died with nine victims found at the scene. 

The location of the fire is not far from the location where the 2025 MAMA Awards will be held at Kai Tak Stadium on November 28 and 29, 2025. In the wake of the fire, netizens have suggested that the 2026 MAMA Awards be postponed, given that the Hong Kong government has issued a Level 5 fire alert, the highest fire risk. 

Currently, the MAMA Awards production team is holding an emergency meeting on Thursday (November 27, 2025) following the large number of victims. Until this news was published, there had been no decision regarding postponing the event.

 It is known that the fire at Wang Fuk Court, Tai Po, which is an apartment building complex in northern Hong Kong, lasted for 10 hours on Wednesday (November 26, 2025). The fires raged from midday to night, making it the deadliest in decades in Hong Kong.
