Hwang Min-hyun has officially completed his military service and is ready to return to his public activities. The South Korean singer and actor officially completed his mandatory military service on Saturday (December 20, 2025).
Hwang Min-hyun initially entered the military training center in March of last year for basic training. He then served as a social service worker and was officially discharged today.
Ahead of his military service, Min-hyun held a fan meeting and worked on a solo song as a temporary farewell to his fans. He also sent a touching message to Hwangdo, his nickname for his fans.
"While preparing for 'Dorwon Gyeolui,' I was able to look back on the journey of the past 12 years. Because of Hwangdo, the path we walked together felt so bright," Min-hyun said at the time, as reported by Chosunbiz.
He also said that even though they had to separate temporarily, the future did not look scary as long as he walked with his fans. After completing his mandatory military service, Min-hyun is said to be immediately immersed in a busy schedule.
He has been confirmed as the host of the 2025 MBC Gayo Daejejeon, which will be held on December 31, 2025. In the event, he will host the event with SHINee's Minho and Annie from ALLDAY PROJECT.
Not only that, Min-hyun is also said to be considering playing in a TVING original series entitled Study Club Season 2. If this is confirmed to be true, this project will be one of the markers of Min-hyun's comeback to the acting world after a hiatus due to military service.
Hwang Min-hyun made his entertainment debut in 2012 with the group NU'EST. His fame soared after he re-debuted as a member of Wanna One on Produce 101 Season 2 in 2017. After his activities with Wanna One ended, he returned to NU'EST before finally spreading his wings as a soloist and actor.
In the acting world, Min-hyun is already well-known for his roles in various dramas. He has starred in several popular dramas, including Live On, Alchemy of Souls, Lies of No Use, and Study Club.
