Ahn Hyo Seop revealed his career journey, starting as an aspiring K-pop star at JYP Entertainment before eventually transitioning to acting. He shared his experiences on the YouTube show "Fairy Jaehyung" on Sunday, April 26, 2026.
Her artistic career stems from her school days in Canada, where she was active as a violinist in the school orchestra since the fourth grade. This talent caught the attention of a talent scout, who then contacted her directly to attend training in South Korea.
"I just found out later, there are a number of Asians at my school and they were looking for someone with potential, I think my name was mentioned," said the actor while appearing as a guest star on Fairy Jaehyung's YouTube show on Sunday (April 26, 2026).
The actor from the drama "Business Proposal" was initially skeptical about the offer, but the agency convinced him by sending him a plane ticket. For three years, he underwent intensive training with the members of GOT7 before finally deciding to leave.
"I was kicked out because my skills weren't good enough. I would have eliminated myself too. Because I might be able to sing. But dancing..." said Ahn Hyo Seop, revealing the difficulty of learning K-Pop song choreography.
This failure made him worried about disappointing his father, leading him to change his perspective on the music industry. He realized that the pressures of his trainee job were starting to erode his love for the art of music itself.
"Actually, I really love music. I really love music. But after practicing over and over again as if it were my job, I had a strong feeling that I would hate music. From then on, I decided that music would just be part of my hobby," he explained.
Six months after leaving JYP Entertainment, Ahn Hyo Seop joined Starhaus Entertainment to make his professional acting debut. He is currently starring in the drama "Sold Out On You," which premiered on Netflix on April 22, 2026.
