BTS member V has set records on Instagram and TikTok, ranking first on the list of the 1,000 most influential influencers. V, or Kim Tae-hyung, has proven his immense influence on global social media, cementing his status as one of the world's leading influencers.
Based on a ranking released by the American social media analytics company, HypeAuditor, V ranks second on the list of 'Top 1000 Most Influential Influencers in the World.' Interestingly, the 30-year-old singer also managed to rank No. 1 on TikTok with the same assessment criteria.
V's social media influence continued to grow even during his military service. When the BTS members launched their personal Instagram accounts on December 6, 2021, Kim Taehyung reached 1 million followers in just 43 minutes.
He also surpassed 10 million followers in 4 hours and 52 minutes, setting a Guinness World Record. On January 13, 2026, BTS's V became the first Korean male celebrity to reach 70 million followers on Instagram, averaging 12.5 million likes per post.
And in July 2025, shortly after completing his military service, V ranked as the 3rd most influential Instagram influencer in the world, behind only football stars Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi.
Now, with active promotions for BTS's latest album, ARIRANG, V has surpassed his own record and climbed to No. 2 on Instagram. And on TikTok, the "Slow Dancing" singer surpassed 10 million followers in just 19 days, setting a record for the fastest for a Korean male celebrity. The account now has 12.46 million followers.
