Korean actor Jeong Yoon Min became the target of netizens' criticism after sharing an AI-generated photo that appeared to appear to be meeting Hollywood actor Brad Pitt. Many believed Angelina Jolie's ex-husband was actually visiting South Korea.

Jeong Yoon Min finally spoke out after two days of silence. The controversy began with Jeong Yoon Min's Instagram post on Saturday (May 9, 2026). "Amazing, I met Brad Pitt in a Bukchon alley," the actor wrote in the caption.

In the photo, Jeong Yoon Min and Brad Pitt smile brightly at the camera, with traditional Korean houses in Bukchon Hanok Village in the background. A popular area that has become an iconic photo spot for international tourists.

Jeong Yoon Min's photo upload ultimately became headline news. Furthermore, he wrote a compelling caption that left the public wondering why Brad Pitt was visiting South Korea. However, there was no official news about the F1 star's visit.

Netizens eventually left comments under Jeong Yoon Min's photo, questioning whether the photo with Brad Pitt was artificially altered. Brad Pitt was last known to have come to South Korea in 2022 to promote his film, Bullet Train.

Despite initially remaining silent, Jeong Yoon Min eventually wrote a clarification message due to the widespread controversy surrounding his photo. He also deleted the photo from his Instagram account, @zzang_0809.

"I'm posting this clarification because many people are asking if Brad Pitt visited South Korea after seeing his photos in Bukchon. In short, these are AI-generated photos," Jeong Yoon Min explained, acknowledging the use of AI. He then claimed he wanted to raise awareness about the dangers of AI.

The clarification message concluded with hashtags like #AIHorror, #AIPhotography, and #DuniaYangBenarBenarMenucatkan. "I was afraid that AI could create such realistic and precise people and backgrounds, so I just casually shared it to raise awareness... but it accidentally attracted a lot of attention."

"What an amazing era, seeing advanced technology make headlines. Let's all be more careful not to be fooled by fake photos! (To Brad Pitt, we'll see you next time if he actually comes...)" he concluded.

Given his status as a public figure, Jeong Yoon Min has been warned to be wise and avoid spreading hoaxes. The actor, who debuted in 2001, is known for his roles in the Korean dramas Madame Antoine: The Love Therapist and Legal High.
