Super Junior's Ryeowook showed his high social concern by making a large donation to coincide with the Children's Day celebration in South Korea. The international development cooperation non-governmental organization G-Foundation announced on May 4, 2026 that the artist had donated 100 million won to support the welfare of children from vulnerable groups.

This donation aims to help growing children prepare for their future in a healthier and more adequate environment. The funds will be divided equally into two main distributions: 50 million won to help children at risk of starvation and another 50 million won to support children living in orphanages.

The G-Foundation plans to use the funds to provide food packages and supplemental meals to ensure the nutritional well-being of children in need. Furthermore, the foundation will provide integrated support spanning education, medical services, and cultural experiences to foster the physical growth and emotional well-being of the orphanage children, aligned with their developmental stages.

G-Foundation CEO Park Choong Kwan expressed his deep appreciation for Ryeowook's demonstrated commitment to the future of the younger generation. He emphasized that the donation will be managed transparently to create significant life changes for the beneficiaries.

Ryeowook himself is known for his active humanitarian work amidst his busy schedule as a member of Super Junior and a solo artist. Through SM Entertainment's social contribution brand, 'SMile,' he regularly participates in volunteer activities with his family and close friends as a long-term commitment to giving back to others.
