South Korean model-actress Hong Yi Seol has personally denied rumors that she is in a romantic relationship with actor Heo Nam Jun. The two are currently starring in the SBS drama 'My Royal Nemesis'.
Rumors of their closeness began to circulate after the public noticed that Hong Yi Seol seemed close to Heo Nam Jun's close circle of friends. In the drama, Heo Nam Jun plays the male lead named Cha Se Gye, while Hong Yi Seol, who started her career as a model, plays his secretary.
In an Instagram Stories post on Saturday (June 13, 2026), Hong Yi Seol confirmed that their relationship was nothing more than coworkers. She clarified that they had been friends since they both studied at Sungkyunkwan University.
"Regarding the actor currently being widely discussed, we are purely colleagues who became close through taking classes together during our college years. The dating rumors are completely untrue," Hong Yi Seol wrote in her official statement.
Hong Yi Seol also admitted that she was hesitant to comment for fear of sparking further misunderstandings. However, she ultimately chose to speak out to protect her co-star from harmful speculation.
"All the dating rumors circulating right now, as well as the rumors related to our drama, are completely untrue. So, you all don't need to worry," he added, urging the public to stop speculating.
