A Brazilian woman who stalked BTS's Jungkook has received a light sentence from a South Korean court after being found guilty of visiting his home 22 times. The court sentenced her to one year in prison with two years of probation, disappointing many fans.

In a trial presided over by Judge Park Ji Won at the Seoul Western District Court, the woman was found guilty of violating South Korea's anti-stalking law and trespassing. Throughout December of last year, she had repeatedly visited Jungkook's home, ringing the doorbell, lingering around the property, and leaving items outside.

As a result of her actions, she was also issued an emergency restraining order prohibiting her from approaching Jungkook or his home within 100 meters, but she violated the order.

In January 2026, the woman returned to Jungkook's house and left photos and printed materials on his doorstep. Investigators also revealed that she waited near the side door after seeing a food delivery worker enter, and then sneaked into the house as he was leaving.

Despite these repeated violations, the court decided not to immediately sentence her to prison. The judge stated that the woman's motive was to "express her feelings" and not to "cause harm," and took into consideration the three months she had already spent in detention.

The court also noted that the woman was expected to be deported after the legal ruling was issued, which was deemed sufficient to mitigate the risk of future violations. This situation sparked outrage among BTS fans, who felt the legal action taken was disproportionate to the offense.
