Olivia Rodrigo Reveals She Is 60 Percent Deaf in Her Left Ear, Following the Release of Her New Album

This album contains 13 songs that describe the emotional journey of a relationship, starting from the feeling of falling in love, euphoria, doubt, to the heartbreak phase. This album's concept is divided into two emotional sections: "Girl So in Love" and "You Seem Pretty Sad."

Spotify even announced that it was the most-streamed female solo album in a single day in 2026. Not only that, Amazon Music also recorded this album as the biggest global streaming debut in the first 24 hours for any album released this year.

Amidst the excitement of her new album, Olivia Rodrigo shared a little-known personal story. In an interview with Kiss FM UK , the 23-year-old singer revealed that she has severe hearing loss in her left ear. 

She casually explained, “Actually, I have about 60 percent hearing loss in my left ear.” She then joked that if someone wanted to whisper something confidentially, it would be best not to be on his left side. 

Olivia said, "If you sit on this side and try to tell me something confidential, I won't be able to understand it." Olivia has had this condition in her left ear since she was a child. 

She admitted to having undergone hearing tests while still in kindergarten. Despite this, Olivia Rodrigo revealed that her condition never made her feel inferior. Her confidence actually made her fans even more impressed.
