Playing his first villain character, South Korean singer and actor, Ong Seong Wu shares his thoughts on his role in the latest drama, Spooky in Love.

A remake of the 2011 film Spellbound, Spooky in Love is an occult-themed romantic drama about the tumultuous partnership between Cheon Yeo Ri (Park Eun Bin), a chaebol who can see ghosts, and Ma Gang Wook (Yang Se Jong), a passionate prosecutor who is afraid of ghosts.

Ong Seong Wu plays the villain Kang Min Hwan, a character that is 180 degrees different from the young and fresh image he has shown in his previous roles. Check out Ong Seung Wu's story about his character in the drama Spooky In Love, reported from Soompi.

Ong Seung Wu explains why he chose the project Spooky In Love. He said, "Because the original film was so well-loved, I was really excited about the remake. I thought I could bring new tension to the story through an original character named Kang Min Hwan, who didn't appear in the original film."

Kang Min Hwan is a character who hides boundless ambition behind his gentle smile. He has a dangerous side driven by a desire for recognition and a sense of inadequacy, and he manipulates others' emotions to get what he wants.

Taking on his first villain role since his acting debut, Ong Seong Wu said, "Kang Min Hwan is a character with a clear goal. I focused on the reasons behind the character's actions and their justification in my acting."

He added that he wanted to show a cooler atmosphere and hoped that the audience would react that Ong Seung Wu also has a very different side. Lastly, he said, "The important point to watch out for is how Cheon Yeo Ri and Ma Gang Wook work together to solve the scary cases."
