BTS's J-hope recently received a special gift from the Brazilian ARMY in the form of a large mural depicting his face. The mural is located near BTS's concert venue at MorumBIS Stadium in São Paulo, ahead of their scheduled concerts on October 28, 30, and 31, 2026.
The project, called "Hope in Motion," was initiated by j-hope's Brazilian fanbase, which spent nearly six months fundraising and preparing the artwork as a tribute to the singer. The initiative was first announced on X in May 2026, where fans encouraged fundraising to make the mural a reality.
One fan called the project a tribute to "the most Brazilian Korean in the world," highlighting j-hope's special relationship with his Brazilian fans. While the mural was originally planned for a different location, it was later moved closer to the stadium to improve safety and accessibility for fans attending the concert.
Photos and videos shared on social media show a large portrait of J-Hope wearing sunglasses and pointing forward, surrounded by pink clouds, dancing figures, red stars, and colorful graffiti. The artwork also celebrates J-Hope's love of dance.
In one video, a dancer is seen breakdancing in front of the mural. Brazilian fans were excited to see the artwork taking shape. One fan wrote, "I don't think everyone realized it yet, but we're in Hope World. It's getting really beautiful."
This comment refers to j-hope's first mixtape, "Hope World," which was released in 2018. Another fan also shared a message in Korean encouraging j-hope to see the mural, saying, “Even if it’s from inside a car, this is something you have to see. Your universe is being revealed.”
Other emotional support came from fans who expressed their emotion, including the comment, “I’m already crying. This is so beautiful,” while thanking the organizers for their efforts. The celebration will also include various activities surrounding the mural throughout BTS's three concert dates.
Organizers announced plans to hand out 5,000 j-hope fans to audience members with floor tickets on October 31, 2026. Interestingly, Brazilian fans have also given J-Hope the affectionate nickname "Rafael," which emerged in a local fan community dedicated to the BTS member.
One fan even jokingly shouted, "Come here, Rafael, run!" after seeing the mural. With months of preparation and support from local ARMYs, this large-scale artwork has become a special welcome gift for j-hope as BTS brings their ARIRANG world tour to São Paulo.
