Xiaomi has finally launched the Xiaomi 12S Ultra along with other Xiaomi 12S series devices in its domestic market. The 12S Ultra is Xiaomi’s most ambitious smartphone to date. The device also happens to be one of the first Xiaomi handsets with Leica co-branding. The smartphone, as you would expect, packs all the latest and greatest features, be it a 120Hz AMOLED display, Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 processor, or fast charging.

The Xiaomi 12S Ultra flaunts a 6.78-inch AMOLED display with a Full HD+ (3200 x 1440 pixel) resolution, 120Hz adaptive refresh rate, and 480Hz touch sampling rate. The display panel on the latest Xiaomi flagship can go as high as 1500nits in terms of brightness and supports an 80,00,000: 1 contrast ratio. It features HDR10+ as well as Dolby Vision certification and comes with Corning Gorilla Glass Victus protection.

Under the hood, the latest Xiaomi camera flagship sports an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 processor, fabled on TSMC’s 4nm process. The system on chip brings with it an integrated Adreno 730 GPU and X65 5G modem. It comes paired with up to 12GB of LPDDR5 RAM and up to 512GB of UFS 3.1 storage. The Xiaomi 12S ultra ships with MIUI 13, based on Android 12. On the security front, it offers an in-display fingerprint scanner.

In terms of optics, the Xiaomi 12S Ultra offers a triple rear camera setup tuned by Leica. The primary shooter on the Xiaomi flagship is a 50MP Sony IMX989 sensor with a 1-inch sensor size, 23mm focal length, an F1.9 aperture, and OIS support. It is accompanied by a 48MP ultra-wide-angle lens with a Sony IMX586 sensor, 128° field of view, and a 1/2-inch sensor size.

The cameras on the device are capable of recording 8K video as well as Dolby Vision HDR video recording. The handset gets a 32MP shooter for selfies and video calls.

Additionally, the Xiaomi 12S Ultra comes equipped with a 4,860mAh battery unit and 67W fast charging support. It also supports 50W wireless charging and 10W reverse wireless charging. The handset relies on a Type-C port for charging and data transfer. The handset doesn’t have a dedicated audio jack, so the audio is also routed through the Type-C port. It offers a stereo speaker setup with Harman Kardon tuning and Dolby Atmos audio.
