Thai star Bright Vachirawit Chivaaree has tested positive for COVID-19, his company GMMTV shared on Saturday. Bright, the lead in highly popular series like 2gether, Still 2gether and F4: Thailand (an official remake of Boys Over Flowers), was experiencing flu-like symptoms such as a sore throat and underwent an RT-PCR test which came back positive on 23 April.
The 24-year-old actor is currently self-isolating at his residence and awaiting treatment. His promotional events and professional appointments have been suspended in the interim. GMMTV representatives said they were reaching out to everyone Bright had been in contact with recently so they could adequately monitor their health.
Bright started his career in 2013 as a teen host for the show Strawberry Krubcake. His breakout role was opposite Win Metawin Opas-iamkajorn in 2020's 2gether. He also has a career as a recording artiste and musician alongside. After GMMTV shared its statement, Bright took to his social media handles to tell fans that he would be on the mend soon.
"I'll be fine," he reassured fans in a tweet. Bright's COVID diagnosis came just a day after another popular Thai actor, Off Jumpol Adulkittiporn (also under GMMTV management and last seen in the Anucha Boonyawatana-directed Not Me) tested positive for COVID-19.
However, Off, 31, was assessed to be a "green level patient", requiring only home isolation. Wishes for both actors to recover soon poured in from their peers as well as their global community of fans. Bright is best known for his leading roles in 2gether: The Series (Sarawat), and F4 Thailand: Boys Over Flowers (Thyme).
