NCT 127 recently filmed a commercial for the Puma brand. However, there was an error in the set which caused a 2 meter high jungle gym to fall and injure four members. The incident occurred on the set on December 9, 2022. Johnny, Jaehyun, and Jungwoo were immediately rushed to the hospital after sustaining injuries, while Taeil chose to return home and rest.
After undergoing an examination at the hospital, bruises were found on Johnny, Jaehyun, and Jungwoo. Luckily, the three members were not seriously injured. Even so, a number of NCT 127 schedules had to be postponed. They reportedly postponed the filming schedule to appear on 2023 SMTOWN LIVE: SMCU PALACE @ KWANGYA, also Jungwoo who had to be absent as an MC on MBC Music Core.
Shortly after the incident occurred, Puma Korea also released an apology. They claimed to feel responsible for the incident that happened to Johnny, Jaehyun, Jungwoo and Taeil. " NCT 127 is currently Puma's Asia Pacific ambassador, and while shooting a commercial on December 9, Johnny, Jaehyun, Jungwoo, and Taeil had an accident due to issues with the structure of the shooting location," Puma said.
"After the incident occurred, Johnny, Jaehyun, and Jungwoo were immediately rushed to the nearest hospital and received examination. Fortunately, Taeil only suffered minor injuries. We respect his personal desire to return home and rest," he continued. Puma also apologized to fans for causing concern. They promised to take full responsibility for what happened to Johnny, Jaehyun, Jungwoo and Taeil.
"Puma Korea feels very responsible for this incident. We plan to find the cause and prevent the same thing from happening again," said Puma. "We apologize to fans for worrying what happened to a much loved idol. We also apologize to SM Entertainment for causing concern. Puma Korea will do our best to support Johnny, Jaehyun, and Jungwoo's treatment and recovery . " he concluded.
