The virtual survival idol program 'GIRL'S RE:VERSE' has issued their official statement regarding the departure of one of the contestants, namely Olivia Hye from LOONA. Quoting from Soompi on Tuesday January 24, 2023, Olivia Hye reportedly withdrew from the virtual survival idol program 'GIRL'S RE:VERSE' due to health problems.
'GIRL'S RE:VERSE' has thirty real life contestants, namely K-Pop girl group members who deliberately hide their real names, faces and identities to fight as new virtual characters under unique and diverse nicknames. The real identities of the contestants will not be shared, until they are eliminated from the program.
However, fans have shown speculation that Olivia Hye is one of the 30 contestants who participated. Olivia Hye was suspected of having the stage name 'Chonky Cat', and it has now been confirmed that her identity is true after she was announced to be leaving the program.
On January 20, 2023, the 'GIRL'S RE:VERSE' side announced via their SNS that the idol with the stage name 'Chonky Cat' will not be participating in the contest due to health issues. "Due to health issues, Chonky Cat will with a heavy heart stop his journey on W and return to his original home on Cat Star. We thank Chonky Cat, who has done his best so far.
Please give lots of support to Chonky Cat in the future ," said the 'GIRL'S RE:VERSE'. Meanwhile, Oliva Hye is currently facing a legal battle against her agency Blockberry Creative to terminate her exclusive contract, along with the eight other LOONA members, namely Hee Jin, Ha Seul, Yeo Jin, Kim Lip, Jin Soul, Choerry, Yves, and Go. Won.
Even though Blockberry Creative had denied it, earlier this month it was reported that the other four LOONA members had won the lawsuit, and the other five had lost. Olivia Hye was one of the five members who lost, because their previous contract had changed with Blockberry Creative and was declared ineligible to apply for a suspension.
