One of the members of the boy group EXO, namely Baekhyun, finally officially completed his mandatory military service today on Sunday February 5, 2023. Quoting from Naver, Baekhyun will be exempt from his mandatory military service after completing his duties which began in May 2021.
Baekhyun was diagnosed with hypothyroidism during a physical health check for military enlistment, and qualified as grade 4 in the medical examination. Therefore, he carried out his mandatory military service as a social worker. With Baekhyun's return from his mandatory military service, Baekhyun became the 6th member of EXO to have completed his mandatory military service, following Xiumin, DO, Suho, Chen, and Chanyeol.
Meanwhile, the two remaining EXO members who have not yet completed their military duties are Kai and Sehun. During his mandatory military service, Baekhyun has prepared a number of videos for fans, and often updates them through a number of posts on social media, such as Twitter.
He did this to treat the longing for fans when he was carrying out his obligations as a good citizen. On January 17, 2023, Baekhyun also uploaded a video on EXO's YouTube channel entitled 'Hey, Eri (short name for EXO fans), Baekhyun Is Here'. In the video, Baekhyun wrote handwritten letters to fans. He shared, "Thank you for not forgetting me.
But, now what? I'll be back soon, are you guys ready?" "Did you save your energy for two years? EXO always says this is the beginning. Two years I rested well and saved my energy. So, let's do our best," he added. Not only boosting fans' enthusiasm for his and EXO's future activities, Baekhyun also expressed his love for fans.
"I have prepared a lot of things, because I want to make the waiting period for you while I'm in military service not felt," said Baekhyun.
