The long-awaited solo debut of BTS' Jimin is coming soon. He will release an album titled FACE on March 24, 2023. Prior to that, Jimin made fans even more impatient for the album release by first releasing a song titled Set Me Free Pt. 2. This song is of the hip hop genre, which shows Jimin's different charm as a solo singer.
Set Me Free Pt. 2 carries an episode of determination to move forward freely while saving oneself and eliminating the pain, sadness, emptiness, and various other emotions in it. Jimin BTS shows these emotions through a dark music video. As a musician who is also known for his ability to dance in a contemporary style, Jimin has successfully shown the message he wants to convey through his choreography moves.
In the music video, you can also see that Jimin's front body is filled with lots of tattoos written in German. Shortly after the music video was released, ARMY also discussed the meaning of the tattoo on social media. One ARMY later discovered that the tattoo was an inscription taken from a poem entitled Ich lebe mein Leben in wachsenden Ringen (I Live My Life In Widening Circles) by Austrian poet Rainer Maria Rilke (1875-1926).
The poem tells of someone who has gone through various things in life. He lives his life with all his heart, but still has not found his true identity. Set Me Free Pt. 2 is the beginning of Jimin's solo debut series before releasing the album FACE. Later, Jimin will tell more of his story as a solo singer on the album. "FACE is about Jimin facing himself head-on while preparing for his next step as a solo artist," said BIGHIT.
"Jimin will meet fans through various activities, including the release of FACE. So we ask fans for support for Jimin's first official solo activity," he concluded. Jimin is the fourth BTS member to officially debut solo. Previously, J-Hope became the first member to release the album Jack in the Box, followed by Jin through the single The Astronaut, and RM who released the album Indigo.
