Fantagio as Moonbin's management has released an official statement regarding the departure of one of the ASTRO boyband personnel. They were sad to convey the sad news to Moonbin's fans.
"On Wednesday April 19th, 2023, ASTRO member Moonbin left us suddenly and became a star in the sky. Although we cannot compare to the grief felt by a bereaved family, having lost a beloved son and brother, ASTRO members are also fellow Fantagio artists and the company saddened by Moonbin's passing," Fantagio said.
"Even for us it is more heartbreaking to convey this news suddenly to the fans who have supported Moonbin and gave their love. We are sad because we know how the feelings of the deceased who always loved and thought of his fans more than anyone," he continued. Then, Fantagio asked the public to avoid negative rumors regarding the sad news of ASTRO's Moonbin.
He also revealed that Moonbin's funeral would be held privately. "We earnestly ask you to refrain from speculative and malicious reports. In accordance with the wishes of the bereaved family, the funeral will be held as quietly as possible with the presence of family, friends and company associates. Once again, I send my deepest condolences to the deceased on his final journey ,” he said.
ASTRO's Moonbin's sudden departure surprised fans. Many comments talk about the cause of the idol's death. Meanwhile, quoted from Yonhap News, the Seoul Gangnam Police have reported that Moonbin was found dead on April 18, 2023 at 20:10 South Korean time at his residence in Gangnam. The manager was the first to know about it.
He immediately contacted the police. According to the authorities, ASTRO's Moonbin is suspected of committing suicide. The police will investigate further about the cause of death. "It is possible that Moonbin committed suicide," said the police. "We are currently discussing the possibility of an autopsy to determine the exact cause of death," he continued.
