' Boys Planet ' is an audition show for the male version of the 2021 audition program which successfully debuted the girl group Kep1er. The event was hosted by the major television station Mnet. There are about 98 trainees, including 49 trainees from Korea and 49 trainees from other countries around the world who are competing for the top nine spots in order to have the opportunity to debut as members of a global boy group.
Launching from the Koreaboo site, on Thursday April 20 2023, Boys Planet has ended its broadcast period by announcing the 9 final line-ups of participants who managed to debut together as a new boy group. The boy group will have the name ZEROBASEONE or abbreviated as ZB1.
The nine participants who succeeded in realizing their dream of becoming K-pop idols through the BOYS PLANET event included Zhang Hao, Sung Hanbin, Seok Matthew, Ricky, Park Gunwook, Kim Taerae, Kim Gyuvin, Kim Jiwoong, and finally Han Yujin. All of the participants managed to debut because their voting value was higher than the other participants. The voting was carried out by fans through the Mnet Plus application.
Meanwhile, some fans were sad to see the other participants who were not selected, but not a few netizens also thought that the nine participants who had been selected were one of the best combinations that a K-pop group could have. Quoting from the online discussion site Theqoo, several Korean netizens shared their positive reactions to ZB1's debut lineup by commenting such as;
"Gunwook, congratulations on your debut," wrote Gunwook fans "Han Yujin, congratulations," said Yujin's fans. "Mnet chose the debut team well," said netizens "If Seok Matthew debuts, he will gain so much popularity," commented Matthew's fans. "The members are good, but the group name is very strange," netizens sneered. "Everything has beautiful visuals," concluded another netizen
"This combination is so epic that it makes me wonder if there has ever been another program that managed to pick such a good debut team?" Ask other netizens. "The debut line up is very legendary," praised the fans. "Kim Jiwoong, congratulations," said Jiwoong fans. "The combination is very good and there is probably no cheating here," explained netizens who joined. Once again congratulations to the participants who successfully debuted.
