Living in a dormitory is an iconic thing that Korean idols often do during their trainee days and early debut. So it's not surprising, this group of talented young people who initially didn't know each other, gradually became so close, even like siblings. Living in a dormitory also makes it easier for them to practice together.
The close distance allowed them to go straight to the practice room without taking long. However, not only during their trainee days and when they first debuted, some idols even decided to live in dormitories for years. So, the life of idols while in this dormitory also attracted the curiosity of the members.
Like, how is the layout of the room, what do they do when they are in the dorm, and many more. Recently, SHINee's Taemin admitted he wanted to return to living in the dorms with his members. Through his latest vlog on Tuesday April 18, 2023, Taemin said that SHINee debuted at a too young age. Especially as the youngest member, Taemin's age when he debuted was still 15 years old.
So, he doesn't really know the other members and misses a lot of things that should be done together. "I want to live again in the dorm with my members. Back then we still didn't know each other as closely as we do now. I always think, 'I need my own space,'” Taemin said, quoted via the @SHINee channel.
“But looking at it now I think we are much better (in knowing each other). Because I'm a very flexible person. But when I think that, we will bully each other," he added. Shawol (SHINee fans) also discussed this through social media Twitter. They were reminded of the SHINee dorm back in 2008, when the five boys had just debuted.
Taemin slept in a bunk with the late Jonghyun, then Key slept with Minho, and Onew as the leader slept alone between the two members' bunk beds. Shawol also discussed that Taemin used to make jokes. When being interviewed, what were your problems when living in the hostel? Without thinking he immediately answered, 'my member'.
