Actor Song Jae Rim passed away on Tuesday November 12, 2024. The Seongdong Police Station in Seoul confirmed that the 39-year-old actor was found dead in his apartment in Seongdong District. As reported by NDTV, on Tuesday November 12, 2024, a two-page letter was found at the scene. 

Although the cause of death has not been confirmed, police said there was no indication of a crime. Born in 1985, Song Jae Rim made his debut as an actor in the film Actresses in 2009 and became widely known after starring in the drama The Moon Embracing the Sun in 2012.

He also starred in several other popular dramas, such as Flower Boy Ramen Shop, Inspiring Generation, Two Weeks, Goodbye Mr. Black, Bad Girls, Our Gap-soon, Surfing House, Let Me Hear Your Song, and Queen Woo. In the film world, he was involved in projects such as Grand Prix, The Suspect, Crazy Love, Yacha, Bait, and Plop: A Man Who Lost His Business. 

In addition, he starred in films such as Tunnel 3D and On Your Wedding Day, as well as dramas C lean with Passion Now and Cafe Minamdang. Most recently, in 2024, Song Jae-rim played Go Pae-eui in the series Queen Woo . He is also scheduled to appear in two upcoming films, Get Rich and Salmon, as well as the series Bloody Romance.

Aside from the small screen, Song Jae Rim was also active in the theater stage, with his last appearance in  The Rose of Versailles, which ended on October 13, 2024. The drama was his last project before his sudden death. The funeral service is scheduled to be held at Yeouido St. Mary's Hospital on November 14, 2024 at 12 noon local time.

Song Jae-rim's last agency said they have no information regarding the actor or his social media accounts, as their contract ended last year. Song Jae-rim's own social media accounts were last updated in January 2024. "We have been unaware of his whereabouts after his exclusive contract ended last year," said a representative from his former agency.
