NewJeans and LE SSERAFIM proved they are the most shining K-Pop groups of this generation. Both are on the Forbes 30 Under 30 Asia list this year. Forbes highlights how NewJeans has succeeded in hitting the K-Pop music industry since their debut until they have gained popularity.
Not only in the domestic realm, NewJeans is loved by many international fans as well. "NewJeans have become a new K-Pop sensation since their debut in July 2022 with Attention, which is now watched by 130 million views on YouTube. Their latest release, OMG, has now been viewed more than 90 million times since its release in January," wrote Forbes in a statement.
NewJeans' achievements were also highlighted such as Artist of the Year at the 2023 Golden Disc Awards to Hot Rookie at the 2022 The-K Billboard Award. In addition, indicators of their success can also be seen from the many luxury brands that have signed contracts with members, such as Hyein with Louis Vuitton, Danielle with Burberry, and Hanni with Gucci.
On the other hand LE SSERAFIM is labeled as the most popular K-Pop girl group at the moment. Not only that, this group is also branded as brave because they can continue to exist even though they have faced a change in group formation in the early weeks of their debut.
LE SSERAFIM's FEARLESS and ANTIFRAGILE videos have received 150 million views and 140 million views on YouTube, respectively. Their achievements as Rookie of the Year at the 2023 Golden Disc Awards and New Favorite Artist at MAMA 2022 were also underlined by Forbes. Apart from these two groups, actress Jung Ji So (Parasite) was also included in this year's Forbes 30 Under 30 Asia list.
Her appearance in The Glory playing the teenage Moon Dong Eun brought the actress to this prestigious list. Then there is also actress Kim Hye Yoon who previously won the Best New Actress award at the 2022 Blue Dragon Awards through The Girl on a Bulldozer.
The last South Korean actress on this list is Lee Yoo Mi, who previously appeared in Squid Game and All of Us Are Dead. Her achievements since the two dramas have successfully led her to a role in the film Young Adult Matters which won her the Best New Film Actress category at the 2022 Baeksang Arts Awards.
