One of Blackpink's members, Lisa, reportedly received an offer of 100 billion won to change agencies and labels. This was reported by new media Munhwa Ilbo on Monday January 23, 2023. Blackpink's exclusive contract with her agency, YG Entertainment, will expire in August this year.
Currently, the public is curious about whether the members of K-pop group Blackpink will renew their contracts with YG Entertainment or not. NH Investment & Securities expects the four-member group to renew its contract with their label in its analyst report on Jan. 19, 2023.
Reported by AllKpop on Monday January 23, 2023, based on Munhwa Ilbo's report, now it will not be easy for YG Entertainment because the members are offered much higher guarantees elsewhere. According to one insider, Lisa was offered 100 billion won to change labels, which is practically impossible for YG Entertainment to match.
However, Blackpink members will not simply switch labels with money if they want to continue using the group's name. However, insiders believe that YG Entertainment should offer at least 20 billion won per member. Some believe, YG Entertainment launched Baby Monster to mitigate the potential failure to close a contract renewal deal with Blackpink.
Meanwhile, Blackpink will wrap up its world tour in June this year. At the end of last year, Blackpink reportedly planned to leave YG Entertainment to join The Black Label. The news comes after actor Kang Dong-won, singers Taeyang and Bigbang's Daesung, as well as six members of K-pop group iKON left YG Entertainment.
