YG Entertainment 's agency announced that the exclusive contract with BIGBANG's G-Dragon has officially ended. This statement was issued in response to a wild issue among the public that the BIGBANG front man had left the agency that made his name in the Kpop world. Previously, the public was excited by a screenshot photo containing a list of names of artists under YG Entertainment.
In the list, there is not a single name of BIGBANG's personnel, including G-Dragon. As is known, TOP had terminated the contract with YG first, then followed by Daesung and Taeyang who moved to YG's subsidiary agency, namely THE BLACK LABEL. This made fans worry because they could not find G-Dragon's name on the list of YG artist names.
On Tuesday June 6, 2023, YG Entertainment finally opened their voices and confirmed that their exclusive contract with the rapper had ended. "It is true that G-Dragon's exclusive contract has ended. We are currently discussing various options including a partial contract for his activities in areas such as advertising.
If the artist wishes to continue his promotions as a musician in the near future, we plan to negotiate a new contract with him. and offered the agency's full support to him. " YG Entertainment's agency representative said, quoted from Allkpop. Based on the statement from the agency, it seems that YG Entertainment is optimistic that G-Dragon will not leave the agency that has raised his name.
Meanwhile, last January through his official YouTube channel the 1988-born idol revealed spoilers about his future activities. He said he would soon return to his activities as a singer. He plans to make a comeback with various activities in 2023 and is currently preparing for his latest album.
