Airing today, the Korean drama Heartbeat starring 2PM's Taecyeon has a vampire theme and no horror scenes. Ahead of its broadcast, South Korean media News 1 reported that the KBS2 TV drama production team Heartbeat held a press conference on the afternoon of June 26, 2023.
The press conference was held at the Hyundai Department Store D-Cube City, Guro-gu, Seoul. A number of players such as Ok Taecyeon Ok, Won Ji An , Park Kang Hyun, and Yoon So Hee also attended the launch of the drama production. Lee Hyun Seok who was appointed as the director also attended the event.
The drama Heartbeat tells the story of Sun Woo Hyeol, a vampire who wants to become fully human. Unfortunately, Sun Woo Hyeol's wish failed because he missed one day in 100 years. Sun Woo Hyeol then meets Joo In Hae, a contract nurse-teacher and guest house owner, who has a cold personality.
Meanwhile Sun Woo Hyeol is someone who always follows trends-setters. Until something happened, Sun Woo Hyeol and Joo In Hae finally had to live together. Until finally their relationship developed and intertwined a romantic story. K-pop idol who is also good at acting, 2PM's Ok Taecyeon has joined the cast in the new KBS drama Heartbeat.
Taecyeon got the chance to play the character Sun Woo Hyeol. "As the main actor, of course I want to achieve success in this work. However, I also hope that all production members, including the actors, staff, and director, can achieve success together," Taecyeon said during the press conference when asked if there was any pressure.
Meanwhile, actress Won Ji An who was appointed to play the character Joo In Hae said, "The most difficult thing in filming this kind of work for a long time is that I think I have to exercise regularly in terms of physical strength rather than difficulty."
Even though it has a vampire theme, director Lee Hyun Seok said that there are no horror scenes in the drama. "There's no atmosphere where ghosts appear or there are no scary scenes," he explained. Drama Heartbeat will air every Monday and Tuesday at 21:50 KST replacing the previous broadcast time for My Perfect Stranger.
