BTS' Jungkook has succeeded in making new history on the streaming platform Spotify through his debut solo song titled Seven. Quoting from Soompi on Sunday July 16, 2023, Jungkook has just released his debut solo song titled Seven on July 14, 2023. Jungkook also collaborated with artist Latto in his debut song.
Shortly after the release, Seven's song successfully set records on music platforms around the world, proving the global power of BTS' Jungkook. Seven's song successfully topped the iTunes charts around the world. The music video for this song also won more than 30 million views in just one day.
Now Seven's song has also managed to set a number of records on the global music streaming platform Spotify . Seven debuted at No.1 on Spotify's Global Top Songs chart, recording 15,995,378 filtered streams in just 24 hours. With this record of achievement, Jungkook is now the first male solo artist to reach 15 million streaming figures with a new song on Spotify.
BTS' Jungkook is also the second singer after Taylor Swift who managed to record this achievement. There are only 2 songs in the history of Spotify that managed to get high streaming debut numbers, namely Taylor Swift's Anti-Hero and BTS Jungkook's Seven.
In addition to successfully recording the highest first-day streaming numbers on Spotify for a solo male artist, Seven is also the first song by a K-Pop solo artist to debut at No.1 on Spotify's Global Top Songs chart. Previously, Jungkook's groupmate, BTS' Jimin, successfully became the first K-Pop solo artist to top the chart with his solo debut song Like Crazy.
However, Like Crazy debuted at No.2 on Spotify's Global Top Songs chart, before rising to No.1. The instrumental version of Seven also debuted at No. 65 on Spotify's Global Top Songs chart, while Jungkook's previously released solo tracks Still With You and My You rank No.54 and No.113 respectively.
Outside of Spotify, Song Seven debuted at No. 1 on the Oricon daily digital singles chart (dated July 14, 2023) in Japan, and also reached No. 1 in Japan. 1 on Melon Top 100 and several other realtime charts in Korea. Once again congratulations to BTS' Jungkook.
