BIGBANG's ex-member T.O.P has joined as one of the stars of 'Squid Game 2' which will air on Netflix in 2024. His involvement in the series by Hwang Dong Hyuk sparked criticism. T.O.P, or whose real name is Choi Seung Hyun, is considered inappropriate to star in this survival-themed series.
Plus there are rumors that T.O.P was 'brought' by Lee Jung Jae, the main star of 'Squid Game'. Media Dispatch alleged that Lee Jung Jae was the one who campaigned to include T.O.P in the ranks of 'Squid Game 2' players. In an exclusive report, it was reported that the Player 456 cast was heavily involved in recruiting ex BIGBANG's T.O.P.
The two are said to be close friends. Dispatch also asked T.O.P's representatives whether the artist had auditioned to play in 'Squid Game 2', but they refused to give a statement. Likewise, parties from Netflix chose to remain silent. "We have nothing to say other than an official statement from Netflix," said a spokesperson for T.O.P.
Meanwhile, there was a lot of criticism on the BIGBANG rapper on social media. "Suddenly feels like a class B film," protested one netizen. "Why would they choose someone who isn't even good at acting," criticized another netizen.
"I lost interest in watching because of T.O.P... Even though I will see it after it's released, I don't really expect great things," netizens wrote again. T.O.P last starred in the film 'Tazza: The Hidden Card' in 2014. Not surprisingly, many fans were surprised to see him return to acting after such a long time.
