King the Land is a Korean drama rom-com that tells the story of an heir and an employee who work in one of the hotels owned by his family. Directed by Im Hyun-wook, this drama stars Lee Junho, Lim Yoona (Yoona), Go Won-hee, Kim Ga-eun, Ahn Se-ha, and Kim Jae-won, among other cast members.
King the Land episode 5 begins with Gu Won again being disappointed because he could not find the information he was looking for. However, while leaving, he is struck by past trauma when two employees smile at him, thus bringing him back to the time when he first entered the Gu family home.
Gu Won then walked to the place that gave him peace but saw Sa-rang crying in his place. He approached her and gave her a shoulder to cry on until she realized what was happening. He then started to leave but Gu Won stopped him to offer him a ride. Sa-rang soon finds herself in her car and euphemistically talks about the relationship she recently broke up with.
He then fell asleep in his car and Gu Won smiled as he realized this. He then takes her to another location and gives her a change of clothes after which he starts a special birthday celebration for Sa-rang. Thus, in matching outfits and a romantic setting, the two share a lovely dinner while trying to avoid being labeled as a couple.
Gu Won then took Sa-rang home and gave her a cake that he had specially prepared. Sa-rang thanks him for the hint and starts to leave when her ex-boyfriend Yu-nam appears out of nowhere and accuses her of thinking something else, which is why she broke up with him.
He then tells her to let go of her pride and come back to him when Sa-rang warns him to stay away from her since they broke up. He tells him to go and leave while Gu Won takes care of Yu-nam after his departure. The two then share a hilarious cute moment before Gu Won leaves.
Meanwhile, things get even harder for Pyung-hwa as the pressure on her team continues to grow. Later, he was returning home to see his friends watching a movie when he found clothes that were presented to Sa-rang by Gu Won. He recognizes them as a high-end brand and starts questioning Sa-rang.
The two then suggest Sa-rang give something in return and suggest a product from their department for her to buy. The next day, Sa-rang texts Gu Won about her future plans which makes Gu Won very happy. However, he calms himself down and gives a cryptic answer which is accepted by Sa-rang who then stops replying. Seeing this, Gu Won became agitated and tried to send multiple messages in vain.
Left with no choice, he goes to her and is finally able to make plans to meet after hours. He then happily leaves while Sa-rang's co-workers question his arrival. They then talked about an upcoming show they were supposed to take part in but with Gu Won's interference, it has been cancelled. Later, the two meet and Sa-rang hands him the gift he prepared for her.
He then tries to leave after this but Gu Won expresses his desire to share it. She agrees with him and the two find themselves at a popular restaurant where Gu Won experiences a very different life. The two spend a pleasant evening, however, trouble surrounds Hwa-ran's paradise when her husband asks for a divorce.
She refused to comply and heard about her husband's behavior from her father the next day. He tells her to clean up everything soon as it might affect the group. Meanwhile, Sa-rang is given the task of contacting all the VIPs on a certain list and inquiring about their return to the King of the Lands.
Gu Won sees this and wonders if his sister was right about people doing things for good incentives. She questions Sa-rang about what she's doing and she tells her that this was a task she was given. The two continued to bicker back and forth which later ended on bad terms. Gu Won is frustrated with Sa-rang's attitude and decides to continue with the activities that the employees will participate in.
The news soon reaches the Land King and everyone is frustrated as they now have to go to remote places and get in touch with the person who provides the raw materials at the hotel. Sa-rang is given the toughest among the list of places to visit and she now has to meet the person who provided them with ginseng.
He immediately leaves for his assignment while Gu Won worries about him, especially after seeing his travel plans. His anxiety was further exacerbated when he learned that the weather conditions were dangerous for his location. Meanwhile, Sa-rang reaches a mountainous area and begins to enter the forest to meet the man who has provided the hotel with ginseng.
However, he soon finds himself lost and it starts to rain when Gu Won calls him. He was surprised to learn that he was in the forest and made the decision to leave. Just then, Sa-rang sees a ginseng and rushes to dig it after which she celebrates her discovery. However, he then fell off a small cliff and lost consciousness.
When he woke up, it was late and he was afraid for his life. Sa-rang's worries are losing hope when she suddenly hears a strange sound followed by a helicopter shining on her. As he looked up, he saw a man standing on top of a cliff panting heavily. None other than Gu Won finally found Sa-rang and it didn't take long before jumping on her own.
