ATEEZ is in Los Angeles for KCON LA 2023 this August. In the midst of that schedule, one of its members, namely Jongho, suffered an injury and had to be sent back to South Korea. Jongho's injury is still related to the previous injury. Some time ago, Jongho was diagnosed with a torn meniscus which prevented him from doing his activities properly.

After the diagnosis, Jongho was advised to rest and recover. However, management explained that because of Jongho's strong will, he was also trying to keep the schedule running with ATEEZ. So the doctor and KQ Entertainment decided to give him an injection to reduce the pain so he could appear on stage as usual.

Then when in Los Angeles, Jongho expressed pain in his leg. This time the pain was so extreme that the agency decided to fly Jongho back to Korea, following announcing the ATEEZ member on hiatus until he fully recovered. The following is the official statement from KQ Entertainment:

"Hello, this is KQ Entertainment. We are very sorry to share news about Jongho's health condition to fans who have supported ATEEZ. Jongho was previously diagnosed with a meniscus tear after injuring his ankle recently, but due to his strong desire to perform, he has focused on treatment and medication to recover, including being given anti-pain injections and helping him heal.

It's just that after today's event, Jongho was in excruciating pain, so we decided to immediately postpone all his schedules to August 20 (Los Angeles time) and fly him back to Korea for a thorough examination and expert treatment. As the artist's health is our top priority, we ask for fans' understanding. The latest news and information regarding Jongho will be provided after this.

We apologize for any inconvenience caused by this sudden news. We will do our best to make sure Jongho recovers soon. Thank You." ATEEZ will next be performing in Mexico City on August 23 for their THE FELLOWSHIP: BREAK THE WALL tour. It was confirmed that Jongho would not participate on that stage.
