INFINITE's Kim Sunggyu opened up about the founding of Infinite Company - which is the agency he formed. In episode 396 of JTBC entertainment program "Knowing Bros" aired on August 12, 2023, Kim Sunggyu, Jang Dongwoo, Nam Woohyun, Lee Sungyeol, L and Lee Sungjong of boy group INFINITE, appeared as a group for the first time after 5 years.
INFINITE members revealed that they founded Infinite Company specifically to accommodate group activities, while individual activities were carried out by each member's agency. The CEO of Infinite Company is the leader, Sunggyu. When asked about INFINITE's trademark rights issues with their previous agency, Sunggyu replied, “After discussing with the CEO of the previous agency, all the members visited and greeted him.
He gladly transferred the trademark rights.” Nam Woohyun recalled, “I got a sudden call from Sunggyu in January. He said that we should set up an agency and start our activities in earnest. Honestly, I thought, 'What is he talking about? Is he going to be a puppet boss?' But he suddenly founded a company.”
Meanwhile, when asked about the funds to set up the company, Sunggyu surprised everyone after admitting that he was the one who paid for the costs. Next, Sunggyu talked about the distribution of royalties and artist income at Infinite Company. He was also asked if he took most of the profits from the activity to recover the initial investment amount.
"It is not like that. The split is 9:1, i.e. 9 for artists and 1 for companies. Profits are shared equally among the members,” said Sunggyu as quoted from KBIZoom on August 12, 2023. The members acknowledge Sunggyu's sacrifice in order to gather all the INFINITE members and establish Infinite Company after the members left Woollim Entertainment. Meanwhile, on July 31, 2023, INFINITE released their comeback mini album titled "13egin".
The mini album consists of six tracks, namely "Intro: 13", "New Emotions", "Time Difference", "I Got You", "Find Me", and "New Emotions (Inst.)". Not only that, INFINITE also held their solo concert after 7 years, entitled "Comeback Again". The concert will kick off at the Seoul KSPO Dome on August 19 and 20, 2023, after which they will travel to Yokohama, Taipei, and Macau.
