To date, V's album sales have managed to set a record for the highest first-day solo album sales in Hanteo Chart history. Therefore, V's album "Layover" is expected to top the US Billboard main album chart "Billboard 200". The strongest competitor preventing V from occupying the top position of the chart is pop star Olivia Rodrigo, who is known as the icon of American Generation Z.
Olivia Rodrigo released her second full album, "GUTS", on the same day. V and Olivia Rodrigo made headlines for their relationship at the 64th Grammy Awards. When V sang “Butter” at the awards ceremony with the BTS members, he approached Rodrigo in the audience and whispered.
The BBC also chose this scene as one of the "Five Standout Moments" at the 2022 Grammy Awards. In addition, V became the fifth BTS member to surpass 1 million copies in cumulative sales after the albums "The Astronaut" by Jin, "FACE" by Jimin, "D-Day" by Suga, and "Jack in the Box" by J-Hope.
BTS is the first five-member K-pop group to release million-selling works as solo artists. Meanwhile, the album "Layover" consists of 6 songs, namely the title track "Slow Dancing", "Rainy Days", "Love Me Again", "Blue", "For Us" and the bonus song "Slow Dancing (Piano Ver.) ”.
