On September 11, 2023, a South Korean media outlet conducted an interview with director Kim Jin Won. He directed the Netflix series A Time Called You starring Ahn Hyo Seop, Jeon Yeo Been, and Kang Hoon in which Rowoon played a surprising role.
Ahn Hyo Seop and Rowoon are close friends in the drama but they have feelings for each other that they cannot express to each other. The director thought deeply about who should play this role and he realized that the person should be someone close to Ahn Hyo Seop.
Cast of Dr. Romantic 3 is very close to singer-actor Rowoon who is currently appearing on Destined With You. Rowoon is willing to join, but he has one condition. He did not charge anything for his appearance as the director emphasized this, he also revealed that Rowoon's only request was that Ahn Hyo Seop should send him a food truck in his name.
Kim Jin Won said that it was important to provide emotional interactions from the casting stage, Ahn Hyo Seop and Rowoon's friendship played a big role in this. The two friends are close and have trust in each other, the director revealed that they showed interest in working on a drama together which really helped the process go smoother.
