Train To Busan director, Yeon Sang Ho, is preparing to produce his latest film entitled Revelation. This film is predicted to expand the 'Yeon Sang Ho Universe', a universe created by the director which is known for having distinctive characters and storytelling. Actor Ryu Jun Yeol was invited to join in this latest project.
Not much information has been shared about the Revelation project. However, Ryu Jun Yeol has been confirmed to appear as the character created by Yeon Sang Ho. The plan is that this film will be one of Netflix's original releases.
Yeon Sang Ho is the creator of the Netflix series Hellbound which is considered successful and will continue into its second season. The first season of this series was played by Yoo Ah In. Due to drug problems involving the actor, he will not appear in the second season.
Regarding Netflix as the distributor of the Revelation film, it has not yet been decided. Quoted from various sources on Tuesday November 28, 2023, currently the production team is still in the process of discussing this matter.
Yeon Sang Ho previously had success with Train To Busan, which became one of the best-selling South Korean films on the big screen. The same universe was expanded through a sequel entitled Peninsula which was released in the COVID-19 era several years ago.
Ryu Jun Yeol himself is now an actor to be reckoned with in the South Korean film industry. Previously he had won the Best Actor trophy at the 59th Baeksang Arts Awards, 43rd Korean Association of Film Critics Awards, and the Golden Cinematography Award for his performance in the film The Night Owl.
