All BTOB members decided to leave Cube Entertainment and have now found new management. Previously Changsub, Eunkwang, Minhyuk, Hyunsik, and Peniel had made announcements, now it's Sungjae's turn. BTOB's Maknae (youngest member) joined IWill Media management.
The agency announced the news in a statement ahead of this weekend. "We have signed an exclusive contract with Yook Sungjae, a talented and active person in the fields of music, acting and TV shows," said management in a statement seen by StarNews on Sunday December 24, 2023.
"We will provide full support for Yook Sungjae to be more active. We also proactively support his activities with BTOB," they continued. IWill Media is a company that operates in the entertainment content sector, especially soundtracks for TV series and Korean drama productions.
Artist management is a new field that IWill Media will be involved in by recruiting Sungjae as their artist. Previously, four BTOB members, namely Eunkwang, Minhyuk, Hyunsik, and Peniel, officially joined a new management that would oversee them and BTOB as a group. The name of this management has not been disclosed.
"We plan to present BTOB members actively in various fields," said the management in their official statement. "Because the members have a strong desire to carry out activities as a group, we will support them and prioritize group activities," they continued.
The same statement was previously made by Changsub's new management. The BTOB vocalist chose to join Fantagio after leaving Cube Entertainment. Fantagio officially announced the joining of BTOB's Changsub on Tuesday December 22, 2023 evening South Korean time.
"After in-depth discussions with Lee Changsub, we have decided to sign an exclusive contract and work together," management said in their official statement. "Because Lee Changsub showed determination to continue group activities, we will support him and arrange a schedule so that he can continue to pursue group activities as a top priority," continued Fantagio.
On the other hand, BTOB still has not received confirmation from Cube Entertainment regarding permission to use the group's name. Finally, management indicated that they were discussing the distribution of royalties with BTOB members if they decided to continue using the name.
