Nam Bo Ra and several of her siblings were invited to be guest stars on the popular tvN program "You Quiz on the Block" on March 26, 2025. The siblings reminisced about their sad life in the past because they had 13 siblings.
On that occasion, the younger sibling named Nam Se Bin revealed that he wanted to be reborn in his family, even though life was difficult. "If someone asked me, 'Will you be reborn as one of 13 siblings in your next life?', I would answer without hesitation, 'Yes'," said Nam Bo Ra's seventh sibling.
Se Bin revealed why he was okay with being reborn into a big family like he is now. "Although we grew up in difficult conditions, those moments are what shaped our family," he said. Se Bin asserted that it would be okay to live as the seventh child again.
"Even if I were to be born as the seventh child again, wearing my older siblings' hand-me-down clothes, taking cold showers in the harsh winter, sharing only 5 packs of ramen for the 10 of us during the hungry days, or experiencing the heartbreaking loss of loved ones, I would still want to go through all those moments with my family.
Because we are stronger than anyone else and truly love each other," he asserted. Her words touched Nam Bo Ra's heart. The actress then cried as she recalled her miserable life with 13 siblings. "When we were little, we weren't in a comfortable environment.
There were times when our water, gas, and electricity were cut off," she said. "We had to use candles. Because we didn't have hot water, we boiled water on the gas stove in the morning just to wash our faces before going to school. We literally shared 5 packs of ramen between all of us," he recalled.
However, Nam Bo Ra revealed that none of her siblings complained about that life. "Despite all that, none of us ever complained. It was hard, but I think because we endured it so well back then, our family is very close-knit now. My siblings think I sacrificed a lot, but I hope they don't feel regretful about it," said the actress.
Meanwhile, Nam Bo Ra first caught the public's attention in 2005 through shows such as MBC's "Sunday Sunday Night - Chorus of Angels" and KBS 1TV's "Screening Humanity," appearing as the eldest daughter among 11 siblings. Two more siblings were born later, making her the eldest of 13 siblings. In 2015, Nam Bo Ra sadly shared that her fifth younger brother had passed away, drawing widespread sympathy.
