Some celebrity parenting choices can sometimes seem a bit unique. Like actor Chris Hemsworth who lets his children call him by name. In a video of them fishing in Fiji, his 9-year-old son calls his father by his first name. "Put up a fight, Chris! Keep going!" Chris's son can be heard calling his father in the clip.
Netizens highlighted this and criticized that the way his son addressed him sounded rude because he didn't call him 'father'. "It's sad that he doesn't call you dad. Being a father is a special thing," commented netizens. "It's disrespectful to call your dad by names at that age. I always hear Chris call his dad 'dad,'" another criticized.
Chris then edited the video caption on his Instagram by adding the reason why his son doesn't call him father. "Ps if you're wondering why my son calls me Chris, it's because I'm his best friend and real friends don't call each other 'dad,'" the Marvel star explained.
Even though the comments column of the post continues to get side comments, Chris seems more distant and focused on taking his children, India Rose Hemsworth, 11 years old, and twins Sasha and Tristan Hemsworth, nine years old, on adventures and having the best quality time.
"We live on about 11 acres along the coast, and we also have a big farm nearby with lots of horses. And my kids really love outdoor activities and adventure. Now it's about trying to keep up with them. We very, very lucky," said Chris, who lives in Byron Bay, Australia, to Vanity Fair.
