Big Planet Made's newest K-pop girl group, BADVILLAIN, recently faced accusations of plagiarism. BADVILLAIN allegedly plagiarized the teaser concept used by BABYMONSTER. BADVILLAIN will debut next month. They have posted teasers and photos to introduce fans.

One of the first teaser videos was released in April and featured silhouettes of the members, along with group teasers and things related to the group. When the first teaser came out, netizens immediately claimed they saw similarities with the BABYMONSTER poster which was released in January 2023.

It didn't stop there, netizens also shared other similarities they saw, such as the teaser layout, colors, and even the similarities between the logos. One netizen even shared a comparison of one of the teasers where the BPM and music melody used looked identical.

Even though it is considered to have many similarities with BABYMONSTER, many netizens also point out that the black and red color scheme is something that is known by groups that are members of Big Planet Made, such as VIVIZ. However, these accusations resurfaced after BADVILLAIN recently shared concept photos of its seven members.

Although they all looked amazing and the concept perfectly matched their group name, netizens noticed similarities to BABYMONSTER's concept photos as the group prepares to re-debut with 'SHEESH'. This made BABYMONSTER fans furious and this topic was widely discussed online.

The issue of plagiarism in the K-pop industry has recently become a hot topic following the HYBE and ADOR conflict. Netizens and fans have become more careful and sensitive to the various similarities that exist, especially when it comes to groups from large agencies.

Recently, the groups that were accused of plagiarism were NewJeans and ILLIT. It's not surprising that K-pop fans are busy commenting on this. Meanwhile, BADVILLAIN consists of seven members, namely Emma, Chloe Young, HU'E, INA, YunSeo, Vin, and Kelly. This group will debut on June 3 with the release of the single album 'OVERSTEP'.
