BLACKPINK's Lisa is confirmed to be preparing for a solo comeback. This news came after the musician shared a short video on TikTok on Thursday June 13, 2024 with the words "teaser" as the upload caption.
In the video, the musician from Thailand is seen posing in front of the camera wearing sunglasses, a white crop top and a black mini skirt. At the end of the video, Lisa is seen singing along to music which cannot be ascertained whether it is a piece of lyrics from Lisa's new project or not.
Lisa was also seen changing her latest appearance on her official page with the words "Lisa, coming soon." Reporting from Korean media JoongAng Daily on Saturday (15/6/2024), Sony Music Entertainment has confirmed Lisa's comeback plans.
This comeback from the musician whose full name is Lalisa Manoban occurred almost three years after the musician released his first solo album entitled Lalisa. Lisa made her debut in the music industry as a member of the girl group BLACKPINK under the YG Entertainment agency in 2016.
The woman born in 1997 then decided to end her contract with YG Entertainment and establish her own label, LLOUD Co., in February 2024 for all her solo activities. In April 2024, Lisa and her label collaborated with US record label RCA Records under Sony Music Entertainment for her soloist activities on the global stage.
RCA Records is a subsidiary of Sony Music Entertainment with a number of famous musicians under its management, such as A$AP Rocky, Doja Cat, Justin Timberlake, SZA, Mark Ronson, Foo Fighters, and Latto.
Lisa also recently made her acting debut in the third season of the series The White Lotus. However, there is no further information regarding the character's name and the role that Lisa plays in the series. The third season of The White Lotus was reportedly filmed in Thailand, Lisa's home country.
Filming, which started in February 2024, was carried out at several points, such as Koh Samui, Phuket and Bangkok. Previously, Lisa had been a guest star several times on TV shows, including Charm TV (2017), Real Man 300 (2018), and was a mentor in Youth With You 2 (2020) and Youth With You 3 (2021).
