South Korean actress Chun Woo-hee will reportedly star in the latest Korean drama with Song Joong-ki. A number of local South Korean media reported that the 37 year old actress will star in the latest drama entitled My Youth (termed as a temporary title) on Monday June 17, 2024. Blitzway Studios as Woo-hee's agency immediately responded to the report.
He said that the actress was still considering the opportunity to play in the drama. "(My Youth) is one of the projects that ( Chun Woo Hee ) is reviewing for the offer," said the agency. The drama My Youth will tell the story of Seon Woo-hae and Sung Je-yeon, who reunite after 15 years of living in each other's difficulties.
This drama will be written by scriptwriter Park Si-hyun from the hit JTBC drama Run On and will be produced by HighZium Studio in collaboration with director Lee Sang-yeop, who previously worked on the dramas Yumi's Cells, Familiar Wife, and Shopaholic Louis.
Chun Woo-hee is increasingly known to the public thanks to his success in playing the character Han Gong-ju in the film Han Gong-ju. Through this role, Woo-hee managed to win various big awards, such as Best New Actress at the 2015 Baeksang Arts Awards, Best Actress at the 2014 Blue Dragon Film Awards, and Best Actress at the Korean Association of Film Critics Awards in 2014.
Previously, it was reported that actor Song Joong-ki would star in this drama. On January 18, OSEN as local Korean media said that the actor would star in the drama My Youth. HighZium Studio as the agency also admitted that Song Joong-ki had just received the offer and was currently considering this opportunity.
The drama My Youth will be Song Joong-ki's first drama since he and his wife announced the birth of their first child in June 2023. Previously, the actor had a role in the hit drama Reborn Rich and starred in the film Hopeless which premiered at the 2023 Cannes Film Festival. Song Joong-ki also recently played a role in the Netflix film My Name Is Loh Kiwan, which was released on March 1, 2024.
