Actor Jo Jung Suk recently revealed his preparations to play a role in his latest film titled ' Pilot '. In the movie 'Pilot', Jo Jung Suk surprised fans with his transformation, as he played a woman. 'Pilot' tells the story of Han Jung Woo (Jo Jung Suk), a skilled pilot who suddenly loses his job.
In order to get his job back, he dares to disguise himself as a woman and uses the identity of his younger sister, Han Jung Mi. Taking on dual roles as Han Jung Woo and Han Jung Mi, Jo Jung Suk will impress the audience with his versatile acting skills in playing two genders.
Quoting from KpopStarz, Jo Jung Suk revealed that he intentionally lost weight to look more feminine for the role. He lost 7kg after he routinely underwent a strict diet. "I lost a lot of weight through a low-carb, high-fat diet because I promised the costume director," said Jo Jung Suk.
In addition, the actor also does acupressure and lymph node massage to get a smooth jawline. In addition to her physical preparation, playing a cross-gender role meant she had to dress differently. According to Jo Jung Suk, she wore over 100 outfits as Han Jung Mi.
Interestingly, he also refers to the iconic Hollywood film 'Mrs. Doubtfire', which starred the late award-winning actor Robin Williams. "I think the director's perspective on the film and the weight of the comedy really fits my perspective. If you watch the film, you will feel like a real comedy film, not a caricature," he said.
Regarding the reason he accepted the offer to star in the film 'Pilot', Jo Jung Suk said that the role was unique and something he had never done before. "'Pilot' is a fresh, new, and challenging film that I wanted to try," said Jo Jung Suk.
