One Piece live action showrunner Matt Owens revealed two new characters who will appear in the second season, namely Dr. Kureha and Tony Tony Chopper who appeared in the Drum Island arc. "When the writers' room for season two got together, we knew how far we were going to go with the story and that Dr. Kureha's character would be a big part of the season," said Matt Owens via the official Netflix Tudum page.

He also admitted that he can't wait to introduce Chopper in the second season, especially since the creator, Eiichiro Oda, had already leaked the plan. "Oda mentioned to everyone that we'll be seeing Chopper in season two," Matt Owens continued. Dr. Kureha and Chopper are some of the favorite characters for One Piece fans .

They were first introduced in the Drum Island arc. Dr. Kureha is a mentor to Chopper so the two were introduced together. Dr. Kureha is a doctor on Drum Island and is often called a "witch". This doctor is also often teased for looking old even though Kureha always thinks she is still young even though she is in her 130s.

He is also a mentor for Chopper who is studying to be a doctor. Chopper later joins Monkey D. Luffy's Straw Hat crew. However, Netflix has yet to officially announce the two actors who will play Dr. Kureha and Chopper. Including other characters such as Vivi and Robin. Chopper is a reindeer who ate the Hito Hito no Mi devil fruit which gives him the special power to transform into a human at will.

So far, the production studio has just announced other actors, starting from David Dastmalchian who plays Mr. 3, Jazzara Jaslyn as Miss Valentine, Camrus Johnson as Mr. 5, and Daniel Lasker as Mr. 9. Next up are Clive Russell as Crocus, Werner Coetser as Dorry, and Brendan Murray as Brogy. Then there are Julia Rehwald as Tashigi, Rob Colletti as Wapol, Ty Keogh as Dalton, and Callum Kerr as Smoker.
