The live-action One Piece series has officially begun filming for its second season. The main cast of the series, who play the Straw Hat crew, were seen gathering in South Africa to undergo the filming process. This information was conveyed directly by Netflix as the production house that oversees the One Piece live action series.
"It's happening, Nakama! From all over the world, our Straw Hats have gathered again to begin filming the epic adventure of season two!" wrote the @onepiecenetflix account on Monday July 1, 2024. "There's no better place to start this journey than on the deck of the Going Merry with @InakiGodoy @Mackenyu1116 @emilysteaparty @itsbookofjacob and @skylar_taz!" he continued.
Netflix also uploaded a video showing Inaki Godoy, Mackenyu, Emily Rudd, Jacob Romero Gibson, and Taz Skylar leaving for South Africa. "Hey Siri, how do I get to South Africa?" Inaki Godoy, who plays Monkey D. Luffy, said in the video. The actor was the first to arrive in South Africa as the filming location for the live-action One Piece.
He was seen welcoming the other Straw Hat Pirates members, including Mackenyu, Emily Rudd, Jacob Romero Gibson, and Taz Skylar. The live-action One Piece series has officially begun filming after announcing the new cast members for the second season.
Among them are David Dastmalchian as Mr. 3, Jazzara Jaslyn as Miss Valentine, Camrus Johnson as Mr. 5, and Daniel Lasker as Mr. 9. Netflix has announced four new cast members, namely Callum Kerr as Smoker, Julia Rehwald as Tashigi, Rob Colletti as Wapol, and Ty Keogh as Dalton.
Meanwhile, several returning actors appear in the second season, including Ilia Isorelys Paulino as Alvida, Jeff Ward as Buggy, and Michael Dorman as Gold Roger. The second season of One Piece live action returns to focus on the story of the five main characters, namely Inaki Godoy as Monkey D.
