BTS Suga's drunk driving or DUI case has entered a new chapter. Now, new CCTV footage has surfaced that shows Suga's fall more clearly. A video published by DongA Ilbo on Wednesday August 14, 2024 showed Suga riding a black scooter on a pedestrian sidewalk.
When he was about to turn towards his residence, Suga fell. Near him at that time there were three police officers who immediately approached Suga. Regarding Suga's latest CCTV footage, Big Hit Music confirmed that the man in the video is Suga. The latest CCTV footage has been widely discussed.
This footage seems to be a rebuttal of the CCTV video that was released by JTBC on August 7, 2024. In a video previously published by JTBC, the driver, believed to be Suga, was seen speeding towards Namsam across from the Nine One Hannam complex. JTBC itself has removed the CCTV video of the speeding driver suspected to be Suga from its official news page.
Suga was caught drunk while riding his electric scooter. He was questioned by police after he was found fallen on Hannam-dong Street on Tuesday August 6, 2024. The man who was on military duty was questioned at the Yongsan police station. Based on the results of the breathalyzer test, Suga had an alcohol content of 0.227 percent.
That number is quite high, especially since Suga admitted to only drinking one glass of beer. That puts BTS's Suga at risk of a five-year prison sentence for having a blood alcohol level that was 7 times the legal limit. The legal blood alcohol level in South Korea for driving is 0.03 percent.
