Ahead of its premiere, JTBC's latest Korean drama titled ' Good Boy ' has provided a leak about the character played by actor Heo Sung Tae. Carrying the action comedy genre, 'Good Boy' will tell the story of Olympic athletes who retire due to their own problems, and then gather as police officers through special recruitment.
The athletes come together to form the Olympics Avengers and fight against evil using the skills they acquired during their time as athletes. In this drama, Heo Sung Tae plays Go Man Sik, an Olympic bronze medalist in wrestling who is currently the team leader of the Special Violent Crimes Unit.
Although Go Man Sik is less powerful and less skilled than others during his time as a professional athlete, he continues to improve and excels at defending rather than taking down opponents. This skill greatly helps him in his job as a police officer.
Preview photos released via Instagram @jtbcdrama show Go Man Sik's best moments as a wrestler, including his victory over Uzbekistan in the third place match for the men's 74 kg Greco-Roman wrestling class.
In one photo, Go Man Sik is seen grimacing with determination as he forces himself to defeat his opponent, while another shows him deftly defending against attacks while lying on his stomach. In addition, the preview also highlights his prowess as he takes down his opponent, showing his incredible skills and strong determination to get a medal.
There is also Go Man Sik's joyful reaction as he achieves victory while the referee raises his hand to signal his victory. Go Man Sik is seen in tears as if this moment reflects the culmination of his years of hard work and dedication.
Heo Sung Tae will once again show his acting skills by playing a unique character that is different from before. In addition to Heo Sung Tae, 'Good Boy' also stars Park Bo Gum, Kim So Hyun, Oh Jung Se, Lee Sang Yi, and Tae Won Suk. The drama will premiere in the second half of 2024.
