YouTuber Sojang / Taldeok Camp was fined 3 million won for defaming Kang Daniel. South Korean media Star News reported that a verdict hearing for Park, Youtuber Sojang, was held by Judge Lee Jungu of the Seoul District Court, Division 18 on Monday August 12, 2024.

Park was charged with violating the Act on Promotion of Information Network Utilization and Information Protection (defamation). At this hearing, the prosecutor set a fine of 3 million won for Park. Previously, Kang Daniel sued Park on charges of spreading false news about him on May 27, 2024.

At the first trial, Park admitted that he had created and uploaded a video titled “The Messy Personal Life of the People's Idol's Boyfriend” which was uploaded in 2022. However, he emphasized that the video was not intended to defame Kang Daniel, but rather to ask for the audience's opinion.

Park then failed to appear at the second hearing held on July 15, 2024.  Park's lawyer said his client had to go to the hospital because she was experiencing severe pain following surgery to remove a finger tumor in May 2024.

Because Park did not submit a previous certificate of absence, the judge criticized Park's absence and threatened to issue an arrest warrant if Park did not appear at the next hearing. Meanwhile, today's trial aims to clarify the facts mentioned by the judge, as well as provide Park with an opportunity to present his defense.

Next, the verdict hearing will be scheduled for September 11, 2024 and the judge will announce the sentence that Park will receive according to the prosecutor's request. Under the defamation charges, Park could face a maximum prison sentence of two years or a fine of up to 5 million won.

Park, also known as YouTuber Sojang, has received numerous lawsuits for defamation. She has been actively uploading videos that defame celebrities and influencers since 2021. Previously, there was IVE's Jang Wonyoung who filed a civil lawsuit against Youtuber Sojang. He had to pay a fine of 100 million won for losing the defamation lawsuit.
