Disney Plus’s original series Gangnam B-Side is set to premiere on November 6th and is already making waves with its gripping teaser. The crime thriller has garnered buzz as a highly anticipated entry at the 29th Busan International Film Festival’s “On Screen” section, selling out tickets upon release.
Gangnam B-Side follows a detective, a prosecutor, and a mysterious broker who become entangled while searching for Jae Hee (BIBI), the Gangnam nightclub star who has suddenly disappeared. The show promises a suspenseful chase that reveals the dark side of Gangnam beneath its glamorous surface.
The star-studded cast includes Jo Woo Jin as detective Kang Dong Woo, Ji Chang Wook as outlaw Yoon Gil Ho, Ha Yoon Kyung as prosecutor Min Seo Jin, and BIBI. Directed by Park Noo Ri, known for helming Money, the series is expected to deliver high-quality storytelling and immersive performances.
The teaser takes viewers through a dramatic contrast between the polished daytime and gritty nighttime in Gangnam, with the tagline “The world we live in and the world they play in,” setting a tense and ominous tone. It also gives a glimpse of the mysterious characters.
From a terrified Jae Hee wandering the streets at night, to Kang Dong Woo’s explosive anger, Yoon Gil Ho’s shady dealings, and Min Seo Jin’s cold determination, the teaser hints at a complex and unpredictable plot. Jo Woo Jin brings depth to detective Kang Dong Woo, a man returning to the force determined to solve the case. Ji Chang Wook transforms into Yoon Gil Ho, a notorious figure in Gangnam who willingly puts himself under suspicion.
Ha Yoon Kyung adds freshness as Min Seo Jin, a prosecutor eager to climb the ranks by cracking this case. Meanwhile, BIBI makes a powerful impression as Jae Hee, the central figure around whom the entire mystery revolves.
