Escape is a Korean film starring veteran actors Lee Je Hoon, Koo Kyo Hwan and Hong Sa Bin. The film is set in the military border area of South and North Korea, and tells the story of North Korean soldiers trying everything they can to start a new life in South Korea.

After watching this film, I feel like I want to immediately bow down to the director, writer, actors and everyone who contributed to the making of the Escape film . Because, this film is that interesting and satisfying! In terms of storyline, this film brings a theme that has actually been brought up by its predecessors. But even so, for me the presentation of this film is a level superior to films with similar themes.

Where the simple story premise is successfully developed to the maximum. The development of the story's premise that was maximized earlier, is seen from the tense scenes that are quite intense appearing on the screen. The series of scenes from the main character's escape, to me seems more realistic when compared to a series of films with similar themes.

If in a film with a similar theme the main character can "simple-set" to deceive people who can hinder his goals, then in this film the main character has to go through long twists and turns to achieve his goals, thus creating a situation where the audience feels pressured by the onslaught of a series of tense scenes.

In terms of characterization, this film highlights two main characters, Im Gyu Nam (Lee Je Hoon) and Ri Hyeon Sang (Koo Kyo Hwa). So, of course Lee Je Hoon and Koo Kyo Hwan as the actors, get the opportunity to shine much more than the other actors.

And honestly I personally fell in love with Koo Kyo Hwan's acting in this film, both intonation, gesture, and facial expression synergize to radiate a dark aura that is so intimidating. Oh yeah! This film also presents a shining young actor, Song Kang who visually, appears so charming, but because he doesn't appear much on screen, his role in this film is a bit difficult to understand and doesn't leave a significant mark!
