The film tells the story of Byron Crawford (Emile Hirsch), a Florida police officer who is investigating a series of murders committed by Florida's most brutal serial killer.

However, in the midst of the girl's disappearance, a concrete seller found the body of a 20-year-old woman named Sarah Kellogg lying on the side of the road.

Byron also tried to link Sarah's death to a series of murder cases that had occurred in the last few months. He then realized and immediately concluded that the murder cases had the same characteristics and pointed to a serial killer nicknamed the Truck Stop Killer.

One day, he meets two FBI agents, Karl Helter (Bruce Willis) and Rebecca Lombardo (Megan Fox), who are investigating a sex trafficking ring. The case they are working on unexpectedly has a connection to the serial murder case. The three of them realized this after Byron told them about a series of murders that had occurred over the years.

He then worked with Karl Helter and Rebecca to catch the Truck Stop Killer. They immediately make a plan to catch the killer. However, in the middle of the disguise, Rebecca is kidnapped by the Truck Stop Killer which puts her life in danger.

Due to this incident, Byron and Karl only have a few hours to gather clues to save Rebecca and catch the Truck Stop Killer. Midnight in the Switchgrass is a film adapted from the true story of the most dangerous serial killer in Texas.
