South Korean artist Lee Jin Ho is currently in the public spotlight due to the online gambling case that ensnared him in 2020. The comedian who starred in the Knowing Brothers program admitted via his social media that he started illegal online gambling since 2020 and has experienced losses in the form of very large debts .

Lee Jin Ho was unable to overcome the debt until he finally asked for help from fellow artists. A media outlet later reported that in 2022, Lee Jin Ho borrowed 100 million KRW from BTS's Jimin. At that time, Lee Jin Ho claimed that he would immediately return the huge amount of money within a week.

Unfortunately, Lee Jin Ho broke his promise and did not pay it back. It was also revealed that other celebrities had also lent money to Lee Jin Ho and suffered financial losses. Recently, Jimin's agency, BigHit Music, confirmed to the media crew the truth of the money that was loaned to the comedian.

"As reported, it is true that there was a financial loss, and the money was loaned with a written agreement. That's all," said BigHit Music, as reported by KBIZoom, on Monday, October 14, 2024. Knowing that the money could not be returned in the near future, BTS's Jimin finally gave Lee Jin Ho leeway to pay the money in installments over the next 10 years until it was paid off.

Lee Jin Ho himself has admitted his biggest mistake playing illegal online gambling which ultimately made his life very chaotic. Not only losing money, Lee Jin Ho is threatened with losing his job, trust between friends due to debt, and his good reputation in the entertainment industry.

"With stern warnings from my acquaintances and the fear that I might never be able to continue the job I love, I finally came to my senses and quit gambling. However, I have received financial help from many people," said Lee Jin Ho. Lee Jin Ho admitted that he had tried to pay off his debts one by one every month to fix the problems he had caused.

"I have been consistently paying the debt every month and will make sure to pay it all off with my own strength, no matter how long it takes. Although the financial loss is quite large, I feel more sorry for those who trusted me and lent me money," he explained.
