K-pop group BIGBANG member G-Dragon has started his highly anticipated solo comeback. He started his appearance by guesting on You Quiz On The Block, sharing his reasons for leaving SM Entertainment and being accused of drug abuse.
G-Dragon last released a solo album titled under his real name 'Kwon Ji Yong' in 2017. After seven years, the legendary K-pop idol cured fans' longing. He released a teaser of the song 'POWER' in the latest episode of You Quiz On The Block which aired on Wednesday October 30, 2024.
On the TV show You Quiz On The Block, G-Dragon revealed a fact that many fans don't know. He was a trainee at SM Entertainment before debuting as a YG Entertainment artist in 2006. G-Dragon was an SM trainee for 5 years.
Furthermore, G-Dragon touched on the drug scandal that dragged his name last year. He came to the police station to undergo a voluntary drug test on Monday November 6, 2023. The results showed that the BIGBANG K-pop group member was proven not to have used drugs and the case was closed by the police.
Although he didn't say it out loud, G-Dragon felt cornered and had difficulty getting through his days. Now the K-pop idol who was once rumored to be dating BLACKPINK's Jennie is ready to move forward. "I've lived a glamorous life most of my life, so things come up that aren't my problem.
I try to do what I can but I feel cornered. I should think there's a space behind me instead of a corner, but at the time it felt like I was cornered." "I couldn't move forward and there was a wall behind me. I forced myself to stay calm because if I was mentally exhausted, I would think of dangerous things.
But now, that time is over, my mind is clearer," said G-Dragon, as reported by Koreaboo. His latest solo song 'POWER' was officially released today, Thursday October 31, 2024. G-Dragon revealed the meaning behind the song. He expressed his feelings in a satirical form regarding the rumors about him.
"The power I have is music. When I saw other people's perspectives during my seven-year hiatus, I realized that the media holds great power these days. So I wanted to express it in a satirical form," G-Dragon explained on You Quiz On The Block.
